1 tsp of raw honey before bed is a traditional bedtime ritual used for centuries. Hold under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing.

What it does

Why it works

Feeds the good bacteria in your gut

  • Raw honey contains natural fibres that feed the good bacteria in your gut. These are called fructooligosaccharides — but simply put, they are food for your gut bacteria.
  • Raw honey has demonstrated antimicrobial properties in laboratory studies, contributing to its long history of traditional use.
  • 1 teaspoon daily on an empty stomach gives your gut bacteria the best chance to benefit.
🌅
Morning, empty stomach
1 tsp in warm water
Before breakfast — gives it direct contact with your gut before food arrives

Raw honey's antimicrobial properties only survive if it's never heated — ours isn't.

  • Raw honey naturally produces small amounts of hydrogen peroxide, which contributes to its antimicrobial activity.
  • Raw honey also retains natural protective compounds from the bees and blossoms. These are lost when honey is heated.
  • Always use water below 40°C. Above that, you start losing the active compounds that make it work.
🍵
During illness or prevention
2 tsp in warm lemon water
Not hot water — above 40°C begins to degrade the active compounds

Fructose for slow release, glucose for immediate use — natural energy without the crash.

  • Acacia honey is unusually high in fructose. Fructose digests more slowly than regular sugar, so you get energy gradually — not all at once.
  • This makes it a better choice than refined sugar for tea, oats, or pre-workout fuel.
  • The GI of 35–50 means a much gentler effect on your blood sugar than regular sugar or most honeys.
Pre-workout or morning
1–2 tsp
In oats, yoghurt, or directly — pairs especially well with saffron in warm milk

The traditional sore throat remedy — thick honey coats and soothes the throat lining.

  • The WHO recognises honey as a demulcent — a soothing agent for cough and throat irritation. Raw honey's thick texture helps coat and soothe the throat naturally.
  • Acacia honey's high fructose content creates a thicker coating on the throat lining than darker honeys. This is why Kashmiri Acacia is the one to reach for when unwell — mild enough to take straight, effective enough to actually work.
  • The natural hydrogen peroxide released by honey's glucose oxidase enzyme has documented antibacterial activity against Streptococcus — the bacteria behind strep throat. Raw honey, unheated, is where this activity is highest.
🫁
At first sign of soreness
1 tsp straight or in warm water
Take 1 tsp directly on the throat, or dissolve in warm water below 40°C. Do not mix into boiling tea — destroys the active enzymes.

Day 1
Taste confirms it has never been heated

Cold-filled honey is thicker, more viscous, and more floral than heated commercial honey. The pale colour and strong smell are signs of intact enzymes. Heated honey smells faintly of caramel.

Week 2–3
Gut regularity and digestion improve

1 tsp daily in warm water on an empty stomach. Raw honey contains naturally occurring compounds that support a healthy gut microbiome. Potential benefits depend on regular consumption as part of an overall healthy diet.

Month 2+
Potential benefits develop with consistent daily use

Raw honey's antimicrobial and prebiotic effects are cumulative. Most visible during winter months — fewer colds, faster recovery. Effects don't happen in a week.

Taste difference is immediate. Gut and immunity benefits build over weeks of consistent daily use.
Be honest with yourself

Is this for you?

This is for you if
You want raw honey that has genuinely never been heated
You're managing blood sugar and want the lowest-GI honey option
You want to replace refined sugar entirely with something functional
You care about gut health and want prebiotic food choices
This is not for you if
You want honey for baking at high temperatures — the active compounds will degrade
You have a bee or honey allergy
You're giving it to a child under 12 months — no honey for infants
No honey for infants under 12 months — risk of infant botulism
How to use

How to use it

Step 01

Use water below 40°C. Above this temperature, the active enzymes start to break down. Never use boiling water.

Step 02

Use as a 1:1 replacement in tea, coffee, oatmeal, and dressings. The acacia variety is mild enough not to overpower other flavours.

Step 03

Raw honey does not need refrigeration. Store below 25°C away from sunlight. If it crystallises, sit the sealed jar in warm water for 20–30 minutes. Never microwave.

Step 04

At the first sign of throat irritation: take 1 teaspoon of Acacia Honey directly (don't dilute). Let it coat the throat slowly. Or dissolve in 200ml warm water (below 40°C) with a squeeze of lemon. Do this 2–3× per day. Do not add to boiling water or chai — heat above 40°C destroys the enzymes that make it work.

Questions

Common questions

Raw honey has tiny bubbles or foam at the surface, crystallises over time, and has a strong floral smell specific to its source. Our honey is cold-filled directly from comb, filtered only through mesh to remove wax. No heat at any stage.
No. Crystallisation is a sign of genuine raw honey. Heated honey resists crystallisation because the enzymes have been destroyed. To make it liquid again, place the sealed jar in warm water (below 40°C) for 20–30 minutes. Never microwave.
You can, but if the tea is above 40°C you will start to lose the active compounds. The honey will still taste good, but some of the benefit is reduced. For full benefit, add it after the tea has cooled slightly.
Acacia honey comes from Robinia (acacia) blossoms only. It is unusually high in fructose, which gives it a slower effect on blood sugar and a lighter, more delicate flavour than regular or wildflower honey. It also stays liquid longer before crystallising. Kashmiri acacia honey vs Manuka: full comparison →
Acacia honey has a GI of around 35–50, lower than most honeys. But it is still a sugar source and should be used in moderation. If you are managing diabetes, speak to your doctor before using it as a sugar substitute.
Yes. The WHO recognises honey as a demulcent — a soothing agent for cough and throat irritation. Raw honey's thick texture helps coat and soothe the throat. Take 1 tsp directly or in warm water. For best quality, avoid adding to boiling liquid as high temperatures may reduce the activity of some naturally occurring enzymes.
